Software Installation

It is very important that you follow the instructions below EXACTLY in order to update/install the latest version of the Term-LAB software. Please do not skip any steps or this procedure will not work (and you will have to start all over again.) Please note that future updates are handled automatically.

Uninstall any existing Term-LAB software

1. Disconnect Term-LAB from the computer
2. Uninstall Term-LAB
3. Uninstall Instacal

Download the latest version of the Term-LAB software

1. Use Internet Explorer and go to www.termpro.com/term-lab/download.asp
2. Log in as 'Term-LAB Customer'.
3. Enter the email address you used when purchasing your Term-LAB system or software.
4. Enter the first 8 digits of your 36-digit activation code and then click 'Login'.
5. Select 'Term-LAB System'.
6. Select 'Full Install'
7. Download the FULL version of the software and SAVE it to your desktop

Install the New Version

1. Double-click on the file you just saved to launch the installer
2. Follow the on-screen instructions
3. When the installation is complete, reboot your computer

Configure the Term-LAB Hardware

1. Attach Term-LAB to your computer (Make sure the green 'Status' LED is on.)
2. Run Instacal (Select Start / All Programs / Measurement Computing / Instacal)
3. Instacal MUST detect the Term-LAB USB device and you must see this device in the 'board list'. If you do not see the 'Term-LAB USB' device in the board list, you probably skipped a step and you must start over at the top of the page.
4. Exit Instacal

Activate Term-LAB

1. Make sure you are connected to the internet. (Do NOT use a removable network adapter such as a USB WiFi adapter or Cellular Tether for activation purposes.)
2. Double-click on the Term-LAB icon on your desktop to launch the Term-LAB application.
3. Fill out the activation information. Your activation serial number is X
4. Term-LAB will contact the server and activate the software.
